Use the frame generator tool provided in the hands-on: https://iplab.naist.jp/class/2018/materials/

Do with your group members.

Capture frames sent/received to/from someone in your group:

  1. Explain frames you captured (in two cases that you sent and you received)
  2. Draw (or explain) the hierarchical protocol architecture the tool used

Explore a datalink (Find a coverage of your lab’s datalink):

  1. Identify the range of your lab’s datalink (same building, same floor, same wing of a same floor, neighbor room, same room?), and then explain what you did and what you found in the experiments
    • Let’s do it using the tool by trial and errors
      • If frames the tool generates does not reach your friend, it seems to be outside of the datalink
    • You can share the results in your group but you must clear which part you did

Optional Assignment

  1. TAs provide the tool in C and Python. Explain the both codes and their (little) difference.
  2. IEEE802.11 frame format is not the exact same with ethernet frame. Explain the reason why we can use ethernet frame (by the tool) on WLAN.
